A week of language immersion in the 5th and 6th grade classrooms for the students to enjoy learning English

English Week is an innovative proposal through the game and various projects, which focuses on active learning, so that the student develops the necessary tools for his future in the English language

In Xaloc's educational curriculum, English is the first foreign language. For this reason, we promote multilingual education and aspire to be the best trilingual school for our students. For this, we prioritize English skills through three fundamental ways: on the one hand, the preparation for Cambridge exams from the third year of primary school. All have the opportunity to prepare and examine themselves for the Starters, Movers and Flyers titles, and thus arrive at Secondary with the confidence and skills needed to embark on the PET.

In addition, we enhance student learning with regular conversations with native English speakers in small groups outside the classroom: Mr. Daniel Roberts is the teacher in charge of these instructive talks.

And what our students like most are the themed English Weeks: this year, the 6th grade students enjoyed Mad Science, and were doing all kinds of experiments. Year 5 students participated in the Magical World, with an escape room, theaters and endless activities.

To promote immersion, the visiting professors were English-speaking and the students only communicated with them in English. And we have verified that English Week plays a crucial role in the trilingual competence of our students, as it fosters a direct learning environment full of possibilities.

We are all looking forward to the next edition!
