The Xaloc Library is a physical space in which many pedagogical resources of the school can be found, open to the entire educational community in different timetables. The room has an area of 123m2 and is easily accessible from anywhere in the school.
It is equipped with a public speaking area, computers and tablets connected to the Internet. It has an updated collection of reference books that complement the practice of learning skills and nourishes students with a wide range of recreational reading for all ages and in different languages.
The Library of Xaloc has an agreement with the public libraries of Catalonia that allows to cover any documentary reference quickly. It also structures different activities to promote reading in a transversal way to all the educational stages offered by the school and promotes different initiatives to stimulate the reading habit among students.
Architecturally, the space has been designed to offer users a versatility that allows the development of the pedagogical program, while having a comfortable separate area where students find a pleasant environment to enjoy individual reading.
But the Xaloc Library goes beyond this physical space and is also present in the classrooms and corridors, providing these spaces with books that are updated regularly and adapted to the needs and requirements of each stage. Finally, it has an appendix in the teachers' room with a careful selection of works that are sources of pedagogical consult for teachers and all staff of the center.
