A Return to Their Roots Before Embarking on New Paths

Year 13 students from Pineda and Xaloc returned to Avantis to mark the end of their school journey and revisit the place where their educational adventure began, before taking on new academic and personal challenges.

Last Friday, the Year 13 students from Pineda and Xaloc who are completing their school years this summer paid a very special visit to Avantis, the school where many of them first began their educational journey. Before moving on to university or vocational studies, they wanted to return to the place where they took their first steps, learned their first lessons and formed the first friendships that would shape their personal and academic development.

Throughout the visit, the students walked through the classrooms and spaces that had witnessed their growth, reliving memories while sharing experiences with the younger pupils. During the morning, they took part in a variety of activities, including games, drawing sessions, building projects and even rehearsals for the end-of-year festival, creating meaningful moments of connection between different generations of students linked by a shared educational experience.

The visit also provided an opportunity to reconnect with some of the teachers who had guided them through their earliest years at school. The conversations, shared memories and warm reunions made the occasion particularly moving for both students and staff.

To commemorate this meaningful day, a group photograph of the entire graduating class was taken. This symbolic gesture marked the closing of a chapter filled with learning, friendships and unforgettable experiences. It was a fitting way to say goodbye to the place that had seen them grow before they set out on the next stage of their lives.

Everyone at Avantis, Pineda and Xaloc wishes them every success in the exciting journey ahead and reminds them that they will always be welcome back, as the doors of their school home will remain open to them.
