Success at the 4th Quedem Day
On October 18th, the 4th edition of the Quedem Day was held at Xaloc — a gathering for couples and friends of Avantis, Pineda, and Xaloc that once again became a space for connection, reflection, and learning about love and family.
The day for couples began with a keynote session by María Calvo — a jurist, writer, lecturer, and university professor — recognized as an expert in family, sexuality, and education. In her talk, titled “First, Us”, Calvo offered an inspiring reflection on marriage, love, and the importance of nurturing the couple’s relationship as the foundation of the family.
After the lecture, participants took part in a hands-on workshop carefully prepared and structured into three “shops”: connection, forgiveness, and just us. In each, couples could choose fruits associated with values such as trust, respect, or gratitude. Each participant “bought” one fruit per shop, choosing the aspects they felt were most important to strengthen in their relationship.
Next, in the Xaloc garden, tables were set up with vermouth, cheese, and cold cuts — creating the perfect setting for each couple to enjoy a date. Using a QR code, participants accessed a website with questions and reflections related to the values they had chosen, encouraging an intimate and enriching dialogue.
The afternoon ended with a round table in the assembly hall featuring a priest, a married couple, and a therapist, moderated by a host. The discussion centered on conjugal love, family, and the challenges of married life.
To close the event, everyone shared an aperitif in the garden — a relaxed moment to keep chatting and strengthen bonds. Over 50 couples took part in this emotional day, which also offered childcare for families with children.
The 4th Quedem Day thus became a warm and enriching experience, reinforcing Avantis, Pineda, and Xaloc’s commitment to supporting and educating families.
