Pilgrimage to Montserrat: 60 Years Walking Together with Xaloc

02/06/2025

More than 200 members of our educational community take part in a journey that unites generations through faith, effort and gratitude at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montserrat.

This Saturday, May 31, the educational community of Xaloc School experienced an unforgettable day during the pilgrimage to Montserrat, held as part of the school’s 60th anniversary celebration. Over 200 peopleincluding students, families, teachers and friendsjoined an initiative that began 10 years ago and this year was opened to the entire educational community of Avantis, Pineda, Xaloc and Xaloc FP.

The ways of participating were as diverse as the community itself: a night walk from Xaloc, cycling routes (mountain or road bike), a hike from Collbató, or arriving by private car, coach or public transport. The motivations were equally varied: spiritual, athletic, personal — or a blend of all three.

The central moment of the day was the thanksgiving Mass at the Basilica of Santa Maria de Montserrat, which included the blessing of an image of Our Lady and the offering of the 60th Anniversary scholarship. It was a deeply meaningful celebration that gave purpose to the effort and highlighted the strength of our community.

The pilgrimage became an experience of fellowship and commitment that went beyond sport or devotion: it was a collective act of gratitude and hope, connecting the present of our school with its roots and its future.

Thank you for being part of such a meaningful chapter in Xaloc’s history.
