The stage of Compulsory Secondary Education
Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) comprises the last years of basic education, from 12 to 16 years of age. These are four years designed to ensure that each student develops the skills that will allow them to define their subsequent academic and professional path, with special attention to personal growth during this particularly important period. LAMSA's educational project is structured around a personal training plan supervised by the personal tutor who treats the student individually and ensures communication between the school and the family.
In accordance with our principles, we attach great importance to meaningful action around us to produce a positive impact, committed to others and to building a more just and livable world
The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is the curriculum framework in that the curriculum and methodology of Secondary Education is developed. Based on a demanding model from an academic and innovative point of view, we propose the training of well-prepared people, aware of their own learning and their responsibility, citizens of a complex society and well connected to the real world.
The International Baccalaureate Programme in Secondary School offers each student the necessary tools for inquiry into global and local issues, and aims to train young thinkers, creative, critical and reflective. The subjects of the national curriculum of Catalonia are integrated into the subject groups of the Middle Years Programme in order to offer a complete and balanced curriculum, with content and learning objectives designed to ensure the best education and an international mindset.
The subjects of the MYP are a conceptual, interdisciplinary and contextualized approach to learning, based on a teaching methodology built around a personal training plan and the development of the skills necessary for the formation of a balanced, value-oriented and professionally competent personality.
The MYP culminates with the Personal Project, in that each student sets themselves a learning challenge and a product to generate. The project tests the skills of personal autonomy and responsibility, and prepares students for the Baccalaureate or for subsequent post-compulsory studies.
The IB Learner Profile
The IB model of education is embodied in school activities in the development of the attributes of the community profile, which is an expression of the capacities and responsibilities that allow us to transcend the curricular model to achieve a truly comprehensive education. Through attributes, students take action and demonstrate their commitment to others and the community around them. The attributes are as follows:
