The Xaloc senior high school student was the top-ranked participant from Catalonia in a national competition held this weekend in Alicante with 120 students from across Spain.
Marcos Lassalle León has won the silver medal at the National Chemistry Olympiad, held this weekend in Alicante. The competition brought together 120 students from all over Spain, selected after successfully passing their respective regional rounds.
In the final ranking, the top 10 participants received gold medals, while the following 10 received silver medals. Marcos ranked among the twenty best students in the country and was also the highest-ranked participant from Catalonia.
This new achievement recognizes Marcos’s talent, effort, and perseverance in the field of science, after previously standing out in the Catalan round organized by the Catalan Society of Chemistry.
During the competition in Alicante, Marcos was accompanied by his father in what became a very special academic and personal experience, culminating in an outstanding result.
At Xaloc, we are extremely proud of Marcos for this remarkable achievement, which reflects the rigorous work, passion for chemistry, and academic commitment of our students.
