Vertical Forest: an immersion experience in nature to better understand the environment and oneself

PAI2 students enjoyed a day of camaraderie, sports, and quality time with teachers and friends. Additionally, they were able to have direct contact with nature

The entire Xaloc community knows that the school organizes a quarterly outing for each grade, with the aim of strengthening bonds between the school and classmates. We like to think of education in this way: as a continuous dialogue. Sometimes, the four walls of the classroom hinder the flow of this conversation, which is why we enjoy going out and exploring the world, to get to know the environment and ourselves better in a relaxed atmosphere.

In a period of such significant change as the transition to the Middle Years Program (PAI), formerly known as Secondary School, we defined a dynamic, movement-based activity that allowed the students to freely enjoy the outdoors and the environment. This way, more enduring bonds are established, as we learn to relate in different scenarios, such as those we will encounter in everyday life, when the stability of school life gives way to the global life of work or university.

We love to see that Xaloc is a reflection of the real world: the cultural diversity of our classrooms is a small sample of the social diversity of the world that lies ahead, of the world that is supportive and committed to each other. And being prepared for that world, which offers so much richness, is one of Xaloc's goals with every student, with every family.

See you soon on the next cultural outing!
